About the Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will be part of an experienced team working on exciting projects across various types of trains. You will play a key role in ensuring high customer satisfaction and reliable products. The role involves hands-on work at our customers’ sites, where you will gain a deep understanding of our systems and how they function.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Assembly, overhaul, and repair of mechanical equipment according to engineering procedures
• Troubleshooting and testing systems in accordance with Wabtec’s guidelines
• Performing tests and inspections on new products during commissioning and validation phases
• Documenting and reporting performed work
• Close collaboration with other departments, such as sales and engineering, to ensure high quality
• Handling customer issues and providing technical support onboard trains
• Complying with quality, work environment, and safety regulations
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone with a technical interest and a problem-solving mindset. You are a team player with good communication skills and enjoy a varied and challenging work environment.
To succeed in the role, we believe you have:
• Solid knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems
• Strong mechanical skills and good analytical abilities
• Experience working with hand and power tools
• At least 1 year of experience working in a mechanical environment
• A post-secondary education in engineering or a related field
• Good computer skills, including the MS Office suite
• Fluent English, both spoken and written
• Willingness to travel frequently and stay on-site for extended periods
